From 1994 through 2009, I was a top producing Commercial Real Estate Loan Officer for a mid-size commercial bank, originating loans on a nationwide basis for income producing properties, including new construction, repositioning and rehab, and permanent financing for both acquisition and refinance with loan sizes ranging from $500,000 to $30 Million. As a result of the changes and challenges in the real estate finance industry, I found myself in a position to reconsider my career path.
In early 2010, I made the decision to take the necessary steps to obtain my Maryland Real Estate Salesperson’s license. I completed the required 60 hour class via the internet and obtained my license in July, 2010. During the spring months, I researched several national real estate companies and met with brokers and office managers representing the companies I considered to determine where the fit would be best to begin my new career. I started with Weichert Realtors – New Colony and, after 5 years there, made a switch to Long and Foster Real Estate, Inc. in Columbia, Maryland.
